What a security system is up against on a bad night
Trouble rarely arrives at a convenient hour. A door is forced after midnight, a cashier is alone at closing, someone in the house has a medical emergency and cannot reach the phone. Other threats are not people at all: a furnace that quits in January or a cooler that warms up over a weekend can cost a business as much as a break-in. A good system has to recognize each of these and tell the difference between them.
That is why the signals matter. Certified watches for temperature, intrusion, burglary, hold-up, medical and panic, and each one means a different response. An alarm that only sounds inside an empty building protects very little, because the job is not finished until a person who can act knows about it.
How Certified designs, installs and inspects it
We begin with consulting at your home or building, free for larger jobs, or by Zoom, FaceTime or Google Meet if that suits you better. We walk the doors, windows and rooms that matter, ask where cash is handled and where someone might need to call for help, and design around the way the place is actually used.
Installation covers the whole system: sensors, keypads, sirens and the hold-up and panic alarms that a store, office or clinic may want at the counter or by a back door. We work with brands including Honeywell and Bosch, and we are certified installation experts for Bosch and First Alert, on UL-listed systems and equipment. Our Alabama licence is ABES-066 and our Tennessee licence is C0556.
Inspections close the loop. A system that was right on installation day can drift as doors are added, rooms are rearranged and staff come and go, so a periodic look at every sensor and every signal path is part of the service, not an upsell.
After install: monitoring, service and when to call
Certified provides UL-listed central station alarm monitoring, 24 hours a day. Signals travel over NetCom internet monitoring with a cellular backup and Halo wireless communications, so the system can still report if one path goes down. Emergency service is available around the clock, every day of the week.
Some signs say a system needs attention: a keypad showing a trouble message that will not clear, a sensor that has been moved or covered, repeated false alarms from one zone, or a new door, window or office layout the system was never told about. Any of those is a good reason to pick up the phone.
